SECOND SESSION IN FIRST PLACE FOR TOP SPANIEL EXPERT Kingsbridge Gazette Friday|9|January|2004
A LODDISWELL man has been selected to judge the English Kennel Club Springer spaniel championships for the second time.
Graham Mulligan, 64, pictured right with his springer spaniels Milly and Apache, will join judges from Ireland, Derby, and Suffolk at Dornells Estate, Castle Douglas, Scotland where the competition will be held later this month.
Fifty three springer spaniels and 20 cocker spaniels will take part in the competition after winning regional and local trials over the past year to qualify.
Mr Mulligan, who has been training gun dogs for 25 years, said: "The dogs will be judged on their steadiness, hunting ability, and how able they are to mark and retrieve game."
A new judging system will come into operation for the first time at the championships.
