DANISH SPANIEL CHAMPIONSHIPS - Sunday 13|14|December|2003
The 2003 Danish Spaniel Championships were held in Bregentved approximately 100 miles south of Copenhagen.
The trial was held on two estates, with excellent spaniel ground, consisting of woodland, plenty of brambles, rushes and white grass. The trial of 32 competitors, was judged by two Englishmen in Graham Mulligan and John Bailey, Graham having also judged the Championship back in 2000.
At the conclusion of the trial, the Judges commented that the standard was not as high as in 2000, as shown by the large number of dogs that were eliminated for basic faults, such as running in, and mis marking. Having said that, the Judges commented on no hard mouthed dogs, and the dogs had temendous drive, and not afraid of any cover faced.
The winning dog Twinoaks Octane, owned and handled by Leif Jacobson, won on ice, and there was then no need for a run off.
